Kellogg's Gives Back to the Community
Kellogg's cares about their community with their various programs and support to individuals around the country in need. Even with their nutritious products they are giving back to their consumers with a healthy choice in their lives. Kellogg's stands for giving back and promoting healthy food decisions around the nation and teaching people about healthy ways to life their lives. Kellogg’s works to impact peoples lives and with their breakfasts they feel they begin each person’s day with the right start.
Kellogg's believes that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but not every child has the privilege to eat breakfast each and every morning. Realizing that, Kellogg's created a program called Share Your Breakfast, with a goal to share 1 million breakfasts with kids that are in need. By sharing what you ate for breakfast through facebook, twitter, or ordering a Kellogg's Collectors Edition Spoon, Kellogg's will then donate money to help Action for Healthy Kids. Action for Healthy Kid's works with schools and families teaching kids to learn how to eat right, stay fit and donates money to create breakfast programs at schools around the nation. One in five kids are sent to school without breakfast or the right kick to their day, so with this program kids are able to eat breakfast at school as well as engage in physical activity to give them the energy they need to start their day.
In order to gain awareness Kellogg’s created Nation Breakfast Week from March 4-10, 2012. During this week people around the country were able to fight childhood hunger, hosting breakfasts at various locations such as Washington D.C., Orlando, FL. and Battle Creek, MI. Throughout National Breakfast Week, the idea of eating a healthy breakfast is stressed showing how Kellogg’s cereal gives children the right nutrients, vitamins and fiber they need in order to have energy throughout their day. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation is a foundation created in 1930, donating millions of dollars in cash and millions of breakfasts to charitable organizations around the world. One organization they give to is Feeding America, our nation’s leading hunger-relief organization.
Kellogg’s employee’s raise millions of dollars for United Way campaigns. Other organizations help benefit people around the world such as the Corn Flakes Field of Dreams Makeover, giving a makeover to an Ireland’s school playing field. They volunteer in the United Way’s “Days of Caring” projects improving playgrounds, parks, building Habitat for Humanity homes and giving support to hunger relief efforts. The entire company works together to give back to their community especially helping charities benefiting children.
“The power of breakfast” is stressed by Kellogg’s and how important it is to make sure you consume breakfast each day. The mission of the company is to start your day right with breakfast, which is exactly what the company, strives to spread throughout the world. With their main program Share Your Breakfast, they are able to complete their mission for those that do not have the choice to eat breakfast every day. It is also a way to get the word out there about the importance of breakfast. After thousands of surveys given through America, Kellogg’s got many answers saying families are too busy to sit down and consume a healthy breakfast. The company continues to work hard to help its community and consumers by giving them the nutritious facts and spread the significance of breakfast. Rather then making products the consumers are satisfied with just for taste, Kellogg’s continues to keep their consumers health in mind with the best ingredients that will benefit them and their health.
Kellogg’s uses good public relations to get their points across by using social media, passionate campaigns/programs and by spending a whole week to travel the U.S. sharing breakfasts with those in need of a healthy start to their day. Not only are they helping those that need it, but they are spreading awareness of childhood hunger through their campaigns giving the important issue more recognition. Their public relations is used to spread their mission and is powerful with each advertising or promotion they use emphasizing the nutritious values of their products.
Although the company is doing a great job helping millions in need, they could share breakfast at food pantries or other locations rather then just schools. Kellogg’s focuses on children, but rather they should help more adults as well, providing for the entire family since it is such a family brand. Supporting children is a big role Kellogg’s plays, but to continue helping those without breakfast, helping adults as well will impact the world greatly.

Krave Kellogg's New Krave!
Kellogg's has recently come out with a new cereal to add to their cereal products called Krave! Krave is a cereal with a crunchy outside but a smooth chocolate inside, coming in two different flavors chocolate and double chocolate.
Although it is fairly new, Kellogg's has done a great job promoting and getting the word out there about this new product. Entering the Kellogg's homepage, a viewer can see a small introduction about Krave along with a link "learn more". Clicking this link leads viewers and consumers onto a new page with more information about this new product like what is Krave, where you can find Krave, and how to join or "like" Kraves Facebook page! With their own link just directed towards the new cereal, consumers are able to learn about the product quick and easy. With their recent posts on Facebook Kellogg's keep up to date with their products promoting each cereal with a different page for each name. Expanding their product line gives Kellogg's more recognition and keeps Kellogg's on top as one of the most popular cereal companies.

Spread the Idea of Breakfast
Kellogg’s has a great, colorful website drawing in viewers and gaining the trust of consumers. The homepage consists of videos, pictures, new products, and many links leading you to anything you need to know about the website, especially how they give back to communities.
Entering the website gives viewers a ton of facts about the company but not all consumers are willing to check each and every website of companies they are interested in, but rather use different tools or sources.
Obviously social media is one of the most popular ways for a company to promote their company these days, with a two huge web sites you might have heard of called Facebook and Twitter. Kellogg’s keeps on top of their Facebook everyday posting links and wall posts a few times a day, but what about Twitter? Twitter is a huge social media website, but the twitter link is no where to be found on their website or in the search engine on the twitter homepage. Although they lack a twitter (or at least keep it hidden pretty well) their Facebook posts contain information about their products, the nutrition in their products, recipes, how they give back to communities, chances to win trips and much more interesting information about the company.
They even post questions and ask for feedback, showing that they listen to their consumers and share a personal connection with those that are loyal to their brand. Right on their homepage you can click an arrow on the bottom right, leading you to a link to visit Kellogg’s on Facebook. Although it is not hard to find, as a PR person I would have that Facebook symbol stand out more, without making the viewers or consumers have to search much at all. However, I am impressed by their Facebook and frequently usage, making sure they have interesting and different posts or links every few hours of the day. They put up pictures of campaigns and events they host, motivational and important posts encouraging nutritious meals and how important breakfast is, pictures of there many types of products and much more.
Their Facebook page is like by 295,963 people, showing the huge impact Kellogg’s has on individual’s. Like their web site they keep the colorful and fun posts, which Kellogg’s is known for keeping their consumers think of their company as a bright and happy brand.
With the fast moving technology and popular online social media sites, Kellogg’s will have to stay on top of more ways to reach audiences online, especially through twitter. With the large amounts of companies and brands using twitter to promote and communicate with their consumer’s it would be very beneficial to create a twitter or make their twitter more available to the public. Using more types of social media will help the companies success and promotion, although with their great website and active Facebook, Kellogg’s is still doing a great job.

Start your day with Kellogg's
Throughout this blog I will be sharing information and teaching
readers about one of Fortune 500's top companies, Kellogg's. During the next
few months I will share blogs with interesting facts about the company, giving
you all a better understanding what Kellogg's is and what it stands for. Most
of you know a little something about Kellogg's but both you and I will learn
about this company on a different level with things you wouldn't have known
from just eating one of their delicious products. Besides their large variety
of breakfast foods and snacks, Kellogg’s is a company that cares about its
consumers offering them nutritious selections and a healthy energized start to
their day.
I believe that what you eat for breakfast, determines how the rest
of your day will go, which is why Kellogg's is such an important brand to consider while choosing how to start your day! Kellogg’s offers cereals and products for everyone to
enjoy and has created a family oriented company bringing family’s closer during
breakfast with their classic cereals widely known.
Kellogg's provides households with a variety of food choices, but
most of all they provide the most important meal of the day...breakfast! With
their huge selection of cereals, to their bars, waffles or beverages, Kellogg's
stays on top selling some of the most traditional and popular cereal names. From
Fruit Loops to Frosted Flakes to Rice Krispies or Raisin Brand, each cereal
holds a special meaning to each home it occupies. Searching homes around the
country, one of these Kellogg's cereals is highly likely to be found. Kellogg’s
emphasizes their improvement of nutrition but continuing to keep that delicious
taste in each product. They were one of the first companies to provide a
printed nutrition label on their boxes of cereal, making sure each consumer
knew everything about what they were eating and reassuring that their products
were made with nutritious ingredients. Kellogg's products are high in fiber, whole grain, vitamins and minerals, but still contain a low intake of sugar giving the cereal or other products the good taste without adding too much! Kellogg's also focus's on the importance of milk and it nutritious benefits. Most of their products coincide with milk, considering most people do not consume milk without cereal, giving Kellogg's another reason to be promoting nutrition and health along with their products!
With their classic cereal brands, Kellogg’s is a well-trusted company producing the best products for their consumers. Compared to other cereal brands, Kellogg’s brands are made with their consumer’s health in mind, and to share the importance of breakfast. They encourage everyone to eat their breakfast products, giving them energy for the rest of their day. Each product has a list of nutritious facts, showing Kellogg’s products are made with healthy ingredients. Looking at the website as well shows how passion the company is about the health of their consumers. Also with their huge donations to charitable organizations around the world, Kellogg’s has maintained a great reputation help feeding millions. Kellogg’s partners with Feeding America, a hunger-relief organization and donates breakfast to kids, giving a nutritious breakfast to those in need. Their other volunteer work including building playgrounds, parks, and homes also shows their passion for the community. You can find information about their commitment to the community and the different donations and charitable work they do. Right on the homepage is a link called “What we believe” and under that link shares how they give back to others helping keep those in need around the world healthy and get the vitamins they need.
In order to keep a good reputation Kellogg’s needs to make sure
each product is made with natural ingredients and is the best option for a
nutritious breakfast. Their communication is important, so providing each
product with healthy facts will help get their message across without having to
search on their website. However their website does help give positive facts maintaining
their great reputation for those that want to do further exploring about the
company. I do believe Kellogg’s is doing a great job with their company and
keeping consumers satisfied and impressed with their commitment to the
community and individuals around the world.
